Principal's Message
Dear Pathways families,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Pathways Elementary School and to join this extraordinary school community. I can assure you that I share in the school's and district's commitment to caring for your children each day, while providing them a world-class learning environment.
I arrive to Pathways as a seasoned elementary teacher and building principal, but in addition to my role as an educator, I am a father and husband to my greatest gifts. My wife Stephanie of 16 years and our four children Claire, Colin, Ella-Grace, and Emily.
This school year will mark my 22st year in education and 16th year as a principal. Since graduating from Northern Kentucky University, I have served communities in the Greater Cincinnati area by transforming low performing schools into proficient schools, through intentional structures, processes, and collaboration with all stakeholders. The elementary principalship provides me the chance to work collaboratively with all teachers and staff daily, while also remaining connected to young students learning and growing in the classroom, as we set the table for many years to come. I passionately believe that every child can excel and that the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their strengths to shape their future and the future of our community.
My conversations with district staff and Ms. Bailey have provided me crucial insights into the core beliefs and values that underlie the Pathways and the Volusia County School District. With my goal of continuing and building upon the tradition of excellence here at Pathways, I am committed to intentionally meeting the needs of all students, supporting and growing our amazing teachers, and to effectively communicate with parents and community members.
